Identified Crooks: Richard Bangyay

We always hear of victims getting robbed of their money by faceless, nameless people. These crooks take advantage of those who trust and believe in goodness. These qualities make the victims such easy preys specially online. One sample of such incidents is this article from cbc.ca about victims of scums on craigslist.org.

This time, for a change, the crook has been identified. His name is Richard Bangyay from Toronto. He has stolen my friend's life savings. He works for PFCI - http://www.pfci.ca. This person should not be working in a financial institution. I did a bit of research on Mr. Bangyay and found out that he has filed for a personal bankruptcy in 2002. For someone who does not know how to manage his own finances, I do not know what PFCI was thinking in hiring him. I found him on this link of the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy in Canada. I have scanned his bankruptcy here to save you the trouble.

It is true that this was five years ago and maybe, just maybe he has changed. Not quite. He has issued a checque to my friend as recent as the summer of 2007 and it came back with NSF - no sufficient fund. This is the scan of the bounced checque.

Also, this man has forged my friend's signature and therefore has falsified documents in order to lease a vehicle. He had to do this obviously because he just filed for personal bankruptcy. If this is not a crime, I don't know what is. My friend does not realize he owns an Acura MDX from an Acura dealer in Toronto - Downtown Acura. If you see an Acura MDX with license plate ARRH888 around the Toronto area, honk at the scum. I do not know how that dealership let Mr. Bangyay lease a vehicle from them. They maybe in trouble as well. I don't know.

As far as my friend's life savings being stolen, there is one thing my friend did right. He forced Mr. Bangyay to sign a document showing that he owes my friend. I have scanned it here.

I can sense that you are now wondering, how in the world would your friend let himself be taken by Mr. Bangyay. This is the kicker. Mr. Bangyay is my friend's nephew. My friend was helping him out through a tough time and now Mr. Bangyay is refusing to pay the money he owes.

My friend looked into hiring a lawyer to get his money back but the lawyers are just too expensive. My buddy is good guy. It is a shame that he has to lose his RSP's and all of his savings to this scum.

Let this post serve as a public service warning. Mr. Bangyay is a small time crook - he steals from family. If he can steal money from family, I don't know what he will do to your money. If you have dealt with or dealing with Mr. Richard Bangyay, ensure that all the documents are in order and please, please, please have someone verify your documents.
